NOBS Annual Meeting
Sunday December 2nd
Kent State University Center
1075 Risman Drive
The Annual Meeting for NOBS will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at the Kent State University Student Center in Kent, Ohio. We will meet at 1:00 pm for a lunch buffet of soup, salad, sandwich and dessert. At 2:00 pm we will hold our (short) Annual Meeting and Election of Board Members. Following the meeting, Mark Dawidziak, co-author with NOBS member Paul Bauer, will talk about their biography, JIM TULLY: American Writer, Irish Rover, Hollywood Brawler.
JIM TULLY: American Writer, Irish Rover, Hollywood Brawler is the definitive biography of a remarkable writer. The book describes the hardscrabble life of an Irish American storyteller, from his immigrant roots, rural upbringing, and life as a hobo riding the rails to the emergent dream factory of early and Golden Age Hollywood and the fall of his fortunes during the Great Depression. Tully was born in Ohio and spent several years in Kent in the early days of his writing career.
Mark Dawidziak is television critic at The Plain Dealer, author of many non-fiction books and a Mark Twain book collector and impersonator.
The cost of lunch plus tax and gratuity is $15.00. The Kent Student Center is located at the intersection of Summit Street and Campus Center Drive. Please bring your parking ticket inside for validation.
